Answer

Safeguard applications are subject to established oversight and quality assurance processes within MBIE. Investigations are undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the Trade (Safeguard Measures) Act 2014 and are overseen by management throughout the investigation process. Key decisions and advice are subject to internal review and quality assurance, including legal review where appropriate. Senior leaders receive regular updates on significant investigations, including progress against statutory requirements and emerging issues.
