Answer

Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that this practice is not within policy and Kāinga Ora has clear guidance and expectations on the process that is to be followed if a tenant is at risk of eviction as described in response to Written Parliamentary Question 37288. This is also my response to Written Parliamentary Questions 37290 and 37291.
