Will the Minister commit to reviewing the Government’s response to the Kmart asbestos-sand recall in light of the Disputes Tribunal decision, including whether changes are needed to ensure consumers receive accurate risk information and timely redress when unsafe products enter the New Zealand market?

Answer
The Government is considering whether improvements to product safety settings are required in response to issues relating to asbestos-contaminated sand products. I am currently receiving advice on these matters and will make announcements on any changes once decisions have been made.
