Answer

Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises that the increase in property sales from FY24 to FY25, together with forecast sales for FY26, reflects its strategic focus on improving financial performance and actively managing its asset portfolio. As a large public housing asset manager, Kāinga Ora regularly divests selected properties and recycles capital to support investment in homes and communities where they are needed most. To support this increased level of sales activity and deliver on these strategic objectives, Kāinga Ora reviewed its property sales and procurement approach. As a result, it adopted a master agent model to improve efficiency, increase consistency across property sales, and deliver better value for money through supplier consolidation while managing higher anticipated sales volumes.
