Answer

I have not received any advice on whether retirement village operators derive a financial benefit from retaining outgoing residents’ capital after a unit has been relicensed but before repayment is made. As noted in the answer to question 33983 (2026), operators must pay all money owing to the former resident no later than five working days after the date the operator receives payment in full from the new resident.
