Answer

I am advised that there has been no integration of the core business with the commercial business such that they operate as one business/company. They are, and remain, separate legal entities. I am advised that, following a strategic review of the commercial business in 2024, a General Manager Commercial was appointed to lead the commercial business who reports to the Chief Executive. Airways has amalgamated some Airways International Limited (AIL) subsidiaries into AIL for Companies Act administrative purposes and for corporate governance reasons. I am advised there is no adverse impact on operational safety or organisational risk from these changes. The Treasury was informed of the outcomes of the strategic review in December 2024 and a high-level summary was included in the Briefing to the Incoming Minister for State Owned Enterprises in February 2025.
