Answer
As set out in the Public Service Commissioner's guidance, "In a small country like New Zealand, conflicts of interest in our working lives are natural and unavoidable. Having interests outside of work is a normal part of life and even if there is a conflict of interest, most conflicts can be managed." Remuneration paid to Crown entity members are published in each entity's annual report. Fees paid are not recorded against the presence of a conflict of interest or a management plan. I expect all board and committee members to regularly review and declare their conflicts of interest as appropriate and in line with Public Service Commission guidelines and legislative requirements.
