Answer

The Government acknowledges the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission’s work on the long-term costs of major infrastructure investment. Long-term estimates of a project’s share of Crown infrastructure spending rely on assumptions about scope, cost, and total future investment that are subject to ongoing work. The Government remains focused on delivering value-for-money infrastructure, guided by robust business cases and the Budget process.
