Answer

I am advised that, for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, it is not possible to provide a comprehensive response to this question within the timeframe for Written Questions. Information relating to communication costs is publicly available in the Estimates and Annual Review Questionnaires on the Parliament website. I am further advised that the answer for the Asia New Zealand Foundation is nil. For Antarctica New Zealand, several communications related contracts have been entered into over this period: Within core business, a two year contract with Isentia (commencing 1 March 2025; NZ$16,758) provides media monitoring and infographic services. For the Scott Base Redevelopment project, SvG Limited was contracted from 27 February 2025 for NZ$25,000 to deliver a full market communications plan. On behalf of the Antarctic Science Platform, Antarctica New Zealand engaged Magpie Content Creation Ltd (1 February 2025; NZ$99,999) to develop a policy oriented Impact Portfolio summarising seven years of research. Additionally, an independent contractor was engaged from 23 April 2025 for part time social media advisory support (NZ$8,400), and Great Scott! 2016 Limited was contracted from 27 January 2026 for a Scott Base recruitment campaign (NZ$13,455). Antarctica New Zealand and the Antarctic Science Platform also contracted NIWA (1 December 2023; $15,000) to provide science communications and videography for the RV Laura Bassi Ross Sea voyage.
