Answer

I am advised that the Ministry for Ethnic Communities (the Ministry) is a Departmental Agency hosted by the Department of Internal Affairs (the Department). This means that the Department provides the Ministry with property services. The Department entered into a lease on behalf of the Ministry at 155 The Terrace Wellington on 22/07/24. The lease runs until 31/08/26. The annual lease cost is $267,557. The Department exited a lease at 215 Lambton Quay where the Ministry was a tenant on one floor. This lease was entered into on 22/07/2018, renewed on 10/08/2022 and then exited on 9/08/2024. The annual cost of the lease was $343,000.
