Answer

Officials advise there are 11 civil legal proceedings currently being defended by Inland Revenue where the tax amount in dispute exceeds $1 million. These proceedings are primarily tax challenges, with a small number of judicial review and other matters, including a freezing order. The total combined tax amount in dispute across these proceedings is approximately $254 million. These matters are currently in various stages of litigation including awaiting a court decision, hearing date or pending settlement.
