Answer

Corrected reply: We are planning for all scenarios and actively seeking advice. We have stood up a Ministerial Oversight Group and are receiving on-going advice on potential impacts of different scenarios for households and communities affected by rising fuel prices. As I announced on 24 March, the Government is moving quickly to provide additional support for low-to-middle-income working families through a temporary $50 per week boost to the In-Work Tax Credit. This will deliver support to working families who are under significant cost-of-living pressure, without making inflation worse or further driving up Government debt.
