Question

  • Does he agree with Simplicity CEO Sam Stubbs who said of Datagrid “if they want to consume 6% of our electricity, they should build the renewable energy”?

Answered by

Hon Simon Watts

Member for North Shore · National Party · Minister for Energy

Answer

I am strongly supportive of the growth of renewable energy, regardless of who builds it. While I do not have responsibility for the datagrid project, I am encouraged by the growth in New Zealand that will stimulate renewable energy development.
