Answer

I am advised that in 2024, Health New Zealand implemented a nationally consistent methodology for capacity modelling which itemises operating theatres and procedure rooms but no longer describes recovery spaces separately as a point of care, this is why the spaces are not reported. I am further advised that the New Dunedin Hospital inpatient building has 44 recovery bays and 16 recliners. The increase is due to the appropriate number of bays for the theatre type.
