Answer

The Government is already undertaking ongoing assessments of fuel supply risks as part of its fuel security monitoring. MBIE continually assesses fuel supply conditions, including the potential impacts of prolonged global disruptions, and coordinates this work with industry and relevant agencies under existing fuel security frameworks. Further information on this can be found on the MBIE website: https://www.mbie.govt.nz/building-and-energy/energy-and-natural-resources/energy-generation-and-markets/liquid-fuel-market/fuel-supply-disruption-response/middle-east-conflict-and-new-zealands-fuel-stocks
