Answer

I am advised Fire and Emergency New Zealand monitors media and social media for mentions of the organisation as part of its routine communications and public information functions, consistent with common practice across the public sector. Within the communications team, one Social Media Advisor and one Social Media Coordinator undertake monitoring of social media channels. In extenuating circumstances, such as during strike activity, other members of the Communications team may be called upon to help with monitoring this activity. This is also my answer to WPQ 8030 and 8037 (2026).
