Question

  • When, if ever, has the government previously offered primary teachers on an Individual Employment Agreement a pay offer prior to a Collective Agreement being settled?

Answered by

Hon Erica Stanford

Member for East Coast Bays · National Party · Minister of Education

Answer

I am advised that the Ministry of Education does not hold specific information on when, or if, Individual Employment Agreements have been offered prior to settlement of a collective agreement for primary teachers. However, Individual Employment Agreements are routinely issued following settlement of all collective agreements covering people working in schools, including primary teachers.
