Answer

Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that training is provided to all customer-facing staff on the management of damage. This training covers how to undertake an assessment to determine whether a tenant is liable for the cost of the repair in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act 1986. This training was last updated and delivered to customer-facing staff in August and September 2025, via online sessions.
