Answer

The $61.6 million investment to deliver a better crisis response that I announced on 5 November 2025 has been allocated as follows: - $7.1 million per annum from 2025/26 for crisis assessment teams, providing 40 additional frontline clinical staff for crisis assessment and treatment teams nationwide. - $4.8 million per annum from 2025/26 for peer-led acute alternatives, enabling establishment of two new 10-bed peer-led acute alternative services. - $1.5 million per annum from 2025/26 for peer support in emergency departments, enabling three more EDs to receive peer support workers, on top of the eight sites already launched. - $2.0 million per annum from 2025/26 for Crisis Recovery Cafés, enabling two new cafés to be established, bringing the total to eight across the country.
