Answer

Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that it takes its responsibilities under the Official Information Act 1982 seriously, which includes reporting to the Public Service Commission, proactive release of responses, and regular engagement with the Ombudsman’s office. In the six months to June 2025, Kāinga Ora responded to over 600 requests under the Official Information Act 1982. These requests were from members of the public, the media, the opposition, and interest groups. Kāinga Ora publishes responses to Official Information Act requests on its website at: https://kaingaora.govt.nz/en_NZ/publications/oia-and-proactive-releases/responses-to-oia-requests/ The Public Service Commission regularly publishes OIA statistics, which include Kāinga Ora, which you can find here: https://www.publicservice.govt.nz/guidance/official-information/oia-statistics This is my response to WPQs 690, 691, and 692 (2026).
