Answer

I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) that as of 1 January 2026, the Ministry had 539 vacancies across 166 open requisitions. An open requisition indicates approval to recruit; it precedes any advertising. Some requisitions cover multiple identical roles. I am further advised that as of 1 January 2026 the Children’s Commissioner had 6 vacancies, the Independent Children’s Monitor had nil vacancies, the New Zealand Artificial Limb Service had 5 vacancies, and the Social Workers Registration Board had 9 vacancies.
