Answer

Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that it has a range of connections with other government agencies at various levels, including through policy teams, and regularly engages on work either organisation has underway. Some of this work may relate directly to mutual tenants and pathways into or out of social housing, while other activity is much broader; for example, the New Zealand Disability Strategy with the Ministry of Disabled People. In some instances, these connections, particularly those related to system settings, may be formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding. At a regional level, Kāinga Ora front line teams may connect with other government agencies with regionally specific matters relating to mutual customers. This is also my response to written question 658 (2026), 659 (2026), 660 (2026), and 661 (2026).
