Question

  • How many full time equivalent (FTE) roles, if any, were there in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 January 2024?

Answered by

Rt Hon Winston Peters

List MP · NZ First · Minister of Foreign Affairs

Answer

On 1 January 2024, 1,229 staff were employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). I note that MFAT's global network of posts employ their own locally engaged staff, which have not been included in this return. On 1 January Antarctica New Zealand had 115 FTE roles, and the Asia New Zealand Foundation had 25 FTE roles.
