Answered by

Rt Hon Winston Peters

List MP · NZ First · Minister of Foreign Affairs

Answer

On 1 January 2026, 1,234 staff were employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tade (MFAT). I note that MFAT's global network of posts employ their own locally engage staff, which have not been included in this return. On 1 January 2026, Antarctica New Zealand had 87 FTE roles, and the Asia New Zealand Foundation had 26 FTE roles.
