Answer

I am advised that the number of people on the housing register nationally rose from 6,455 in January 2018 to 25,388 in December 2023 (with a peak of 27,234 in April 2022). The Government has continued to invest in social housing with a focus on areas of the greatest need. In terms of the Housing Register, as at November 2025 the number of people has reduced to 19,505.
