What process, if any, was followed for the appointment of Dame Jo Anne Brosnahan as Chair of Maritime New Zealand Authority?

This appointment was made in 2018 by the Minister of Transport at that time. I have been advised by the Ministry of Transport that the process consisted of the following steps: the Minister of Transport agreed to the process for filling the vacancy; the position was publicly advertised and nominations received; a shortlist was developed and interviews were conducted; due diligence was undertaken along with Ministerial consultation with Government support and coalition parties, as well as caucus colleagues; Cabinet and the Cabinet Appointments and Honours Committee were notified of the decision.
