Further to his answer to written question 58692 (2025): is there any occasion where he would be sufficiently concerned regarding the quality of a charter school application, or the character of the applicants, that he would intervene in the process, if so, what would those concerns need to relate to?

Hon David Seymour

Answer
The Charter School Authorisation Board makes decisions on individual applications. However, consistent with my responsibilities, if I were to become aware of information that raised serious concerns about applicant integrity, safety risks, or non‑compliance with legal obligations, I would seek advice and consider whether intervention was warranted under the relevant legislative and public‑interest frameworks.
