Answer

I am advised that Stats NZ has reviewed its most recent Centralised Web Accessibility Checker (CWAC) results and acknowledged its current level of compliance is low. Stats NZ is developing a new website, planned for launch at the end of 2026. The new platform will be built to meet the expected web standards and is designed to support achieving a CWAC score of zero ahead of the Government Chief Digital Officer’s December 2030 target.  Stats NZ has also since implemented several fixes on  www.stats.govt.nz, including improvements to focus states, keyboard accessibility, and content. Further issues identified will be prioritised and addressed throughout 2026.
