Answer

I am advised that information on the number of women in prison who are primary caregivers, pregnant or mothers of young children, is not centrally recorded. To provide this information would require officials to undertake substantial collation and manual analysis, which I am not prepared to ask for the purposes of this response. However, I am advised that between September 2024 and September 2025, there were 46 more women remanded in custody.
