Answer

I am advised Fire and Emergency does not operate separate “career”, “volunteer”, “urban”, or “rural” fleets. All new appliances are centrally purchased and then allocated to stations based on operational need. On that basis, total capital expenditure on new fleet across New Zealand for each year since 2017 is: • 2017: $7,110,515 • 2018: $13,206,098 • 2019: $28,560,561 • 2020: $26,797,032 • 2021: $15,730,704 • 2022: $15,331,980 • 2023: $17,928,502 • 2024: $29,516,737 • 2025: $21,575,528 • 2026: $315,495 These figures reflect total national capital expenditure on new fleet and are not disaggregated by workforce type or location.
