Answer

Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me its Sustaining Tenancies Framework ended on 30 June 2024. Since 1 July 2024, the gender of the main tenant where an eviction occurred were 22 female and 15 male. Note that an ‘eviction’ is a specific process involving the Tenancy Tribunal and the District Court, which only happens if a person refuses to leave the property after their tenancy has been terminated following an order from the tenancy tribunal. Evictions can also take place where required to remove individuals who are occupying a property unlawfully.
