Answer

As advised in the House in response to Oral Parliamentary question 1 on 6 November 2025, Fire and Emergency inherited the current fault logging and tracking system, and it remains highly manual and dependent on staff interpretation. A full system replacement is planned for the next financial year to modernise how faults are reported, tracked, and resolved. It’s important to note that Fire and Emergency send multiple trucks to an incident, and a breakdown does not necessarily mean that there is a delay in getting firefighters and resources to that incident.
