Answer

Fire and Emergency officials have advised me that the January 2025 Callsign Manager User Guide sets out the national procedure for appliance call signs. The guide specifies that call signs are based on the station identifier, cost centre and vehicle suffix. For Type 3 appliances, the suffix may be 1, 2 or 3. This information is entered in the Callsign Manager system to support operational dispatch.
