Answer

The Department of Internal Affairs is responsible for organising its workforce and resources to meet its responsibilities and the Government's funding expectations. There is no proposal to discontinue the National Library's Music Hire Service, this an example of misinformation from the PSA that has caused unnecessary public alarm.
