Answer

I have written to the Board and stated that I do not have confidence in the Chief Executive of Fire and Emergency New Zealand. The Board is responsible for governing the entity, and any decisions it takes are a matter for the Board. My role as Minister is to ensure that the Board exercises this responsibility properly.
