Hon Louise Upston
Member for Taupō · National Party · Minister for Social Development and Employment
Answer
I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) that Budget 2022 invested $6.325 million over three years into developing and implementing the Prevention of Abuse of Older People (AOP) work programme. The Ministry also funds services to support older people experiencing elder abuse. $12.35 million per annum is invested in Elder Abuse Response Services (EARS), alongside $5.138 million per annum which is invested in helpline and online support services that includes the Elder Abuse Response Helpline.
