How many, if any, kiwi deaths have been recorded by the Department of Conservation in each year since 2017, broken down by year and by taxon?

Hon Tama Potaka
Member for Hamilton West · National Party · Minister of Conservation
Answer
I am advised the Department of Conservation does not maintain a complete national dataset of all kiwi deaths. Information on kiwi deaths is held across a range of records, including reports from members of the public, DOC-led kiwi monitoring and research activities, records provided by holders of Wildlife Act authorities, and local operational records.
