Please also refer to my response to written question 40525 (2026). I am advised the Game Animal Council is to receive $860,000 for management of the Sika Herd of Special Interest in the 2026/2027 financial year. This funding will be spent on the Sika Herd of Special Interest’s herd management, herd monitoring and research, iwi engagement, hunter engagement, and programme management.
