Question

  • How many applications under the Gas Transition Loan Guarantee Scheme have been approved, and how many declined, listed by participating bank?

Answered by

Hon Nicola Willis

Answer

The Gas Transition Loan Guarantee Scheme commenced on 31 July 2026. Lenders are required to report the number of applications approved to the Treasury each month during the Availability Period, which runs from 31 July 2026 to 30 June 2029. The first return, for the month ending 31 August 2026, is not yet due. As a result, I am advised the Treasury does not currently hold the data needed to answer this question. Applications declined by participating banks are not reported to the Treasury. The Treasury therefore does not hold data on the number of applications declined by each participating bank.
