As part of the legislative process for the Local Government (Water Services) Act 2025 (the Act) the Water Services Authority—Taumata Arowai provided the Minister of Local Government with a suite of documents with advice on the options for changes to legislative functions with additional powers to investigate and intervene, which was subsequently considered through the legislative process.
