What advice, reports, briefings or correspondence has the Minister had, if any, on Fire and Emergency New Zealand's approach to work injury ACC claims and does she have confidence in FENZ senior leadership to address such claims appropriately?

In relation to individual ACC work injury claims, it would be difficult for me to make a judgement about how any particular claim has been handled, as I do not have access to the details of each case and it would not be appropriate for Ministers to become involved in individual claims. I have received the following reports from Fire and Emergency that provide information about Fire and Emergency’s approach to work injury ACC claims. • FR-25-4 Report to Minister for week ending 14 March 2025 • BR-26-01 - Aide Memoire – Meeting with the New Zealand Professional Firefighters Union (NZPFU), 23 January 2026 • FR-26-15 Fortnightly Report 7 August 2026 I have received correspondence from members of the public about ACC coverage for volunteer firefighters, and responses have been drafted with input from Fire and Emergency. I have also received information relating to a small number of specific workplace injury cases at Fire and Emergency.
