How many sailings were cancelled across the Interislander fleet in each of the 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/26 financial years, and what was the estimated revenue impact of those cancellations?

We are delighted by your question. The following table shows the marked improvement in Interislander reliability while we have been responsible for the ferries. Under the previous Government, total executed sailings dropped to 81% in 2021 and 83% in 2022, while in 2026 reliability was at 99% and is currently on 100% in financial year 2026/27. We cannot disclose revenue implications as KiwiRail has a right to go about its commercial activities without prejudice or disadvantage, but clearly the impacts were higher under the previous Government than they are today.
