Answer

I refer the Member to the attached list of schools that have received funding for improvements to date. 57 schools received improvements funded by the accelerated funding to expand the Ngā Iti Kahurangi Small Schools Programme during the period 1 December 2025 to 30 January 2026. The scope of these improvements was in accordance with the Cabinet decision to make all schools warm, safe, and dry through improvements to school heating and flooring; and repairs to windows, doors and roofs (including flashings, gutters and downpipes) to ensure buildings are weathertight. Schools receive the improvements on a needs basis following a site condition assessment. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 395 (2026).
