Answer

I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that incidents do occur at Te Maioha o Parekarangi that result in young people being taken to hospital for assessment. These could be for a variety of reasons, including the healthcare team at the residence, including nurses, determining further assessment is needed, or for potential illness or injury. Without a specific date range identified, I am unable to provide a list of all incidents of this type since the residence was established, as this would require significant manual review and I am not prepared to ask this of my officials at this time. As such, in accordance with Speakers’ Ruling 199-3, I consider that the time, and hence expense, of answering this question in the timeframe allowed for written parliamentary questions is not in the public interest.
