Question

  • How many homes, if any, did Kāinga Ora enable in each of its Large Scale Projects in 2025/26 and in each of the previous five years?

Answered by

Hon Chris Bishop

Member for Hutt South · National Party · Minister of Housing

Answer

I refer the Member to the attached table provided by Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities. Enabled means that the land Kāinga Ora has developed is ready to be built on - it has enabled homes to be constructed. In the context of the number of homes enabled, homes are counted as "enabled" once an unconditional development agreement is in place (for market homes) or once civils are completed (for social houses to be delivered by Kāinga Ora).
