The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) initiated four change processes between 27 November 2023 and 3 September 2026 that resulted in 48 redundancies. These are as follows: 2025 • One restructure was initiated to achieve fiscal savings of 5 percent of TEC's operational baseline which resulted in 24 redundancies. 2024 • One restructure was initiated to achieve fiscal savings of 6 percent of TEC's operational baseline which resulted in 19 redundancies. 2023 • Two directorate restructures were initiated that resulted in a total of 5 redundancies. - Information Directorate: Structural changes were made to three teams to meet TEC's technology and information requirements. - Careers and Investment Design Directorate: Functions were aligned to deliver the National Careers System Strategy work programme and transition Tahatū Careers Navigator into core business.
