Answer
I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) that between 27 November 2023 and 1 September 2026, MSD initiated and completed eleven change processes that resulted in redundancy. Additionally, I am advised by the Ministry in relation to the Crown entities it monitors: • The Children’s Commissioner has initiated one redundancy process since 27 November 2023. • The Independent Children’s Monitor has initiated one redundancy process since 27 November 2023. • The New Zealand Artificial Limb Service has disestablished two positions since 27 November 2023. • The Social Workers Registration Board initiated one redundancy process as part of its 2025 organisational review. Seven roles were disestablished. All affected staff were redeployed into new roles within the organisation.
