Answer

The Poulvac Flufend RG vaccine has only been approved for use in a targeted number of endangered native bird species that are at risk of extinction, as identified by the Department of Conservation (DOC). The vaccine is currently being administered through DOC's vaccination programme. I am advised that currently, consideration has not been given to allow wider access to the vaccine by allowing wildlife hospitals and bird sanctuaries access to the vaccine, but that this may change if the vaccination programme is expanded.
