Answer
In my capacity As Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). I am advised that DPMC has purchased artificial intelligence (AI) services including tools using its shared service provider Central Agency Shared Services (CASS), a unit based in The Treasury. I refer the member to responses to Written Parliamentary Questions 38709 (2026), 38700 (2026) and 38695 (2026) provided by the Minister of Finance. I am advised that for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 there was no expenditure directly by DPMC on AI services. For the 2025/26 financial year I am advised that DPMC spent $82,746 (excluding GST) on AI ancillary support services.
