Answer

Officials advise AI is embedded in most solutions in use at Inland Revenue; therefore, the amount spent specifically on AI cannot be calculated. Vendor pricing models often encompass the full suite of product features, without distinguishing between AI-enabled and non-AI functionality. There was no spend during the 2023/24 financial year for training Inland Revenue staff on AI. $75,700 (excluding GST) was spent on creation of an AI Strategic Considerations document and Roadmap.
